ABOUT
I'm a UK-based travel journalist and lifestyle writer with NTCJ training in newspaper journalism and more than 15 years of writing experience. I have a Bsc (Hons) Psychology degree and I have written for a variety of national publications including Escapism, Foodism, loveExploring, SUITCASE, Culture Trip, The Guardian, Lonely Planet, Breathe and Rough Guides. My works spans editorial features and content as well as branded travel and lifestyle content and copywriting.
My key areas of interest are culture, well-being (Psychology) and family travel and I have written widely on the Caribbean and southern and eastern Africa. That said, I cover a wide range of UK and international travel as well as a variety of topics, from parenting and food and drink, to health, wellbeing and lifestyle.
I currently live in Hertford with my husband and two young children and regularly go into London for industry events.
After studying for my NCTJ in newspaper journalism in Liverpool, I pursued a newspaper career with the Manchester Evening News group, covering local news and writing features on local issues, travel and lifestyle. In 2009 I picked up the 02 Features Writer of the Year Award and the following year, I moved to London, to work on the features desks of various consumer women's magazines, covering real-life features and lifestyle.
Between 2013 and 2014, I took a short break from freelance life to work as a brand journalist for Virgin Holidays where I honed a variety of skills in branded travel content production, website content production, travel blogging, social media content production, tone of voice work and the production of a wide variety of travel marketing collateral. Since then, I have continued to freelance across travel and lifestyle publications and provided copywriting and content writing services to a range of clients. I am also in the process of writing my first collection of children’s story books. Watch this space.
